...another tri fold card. The image is overcoated with Utee again, one of my favorite techniques. Here I dropped some magic pearl powder in the Utee and watched it move around on the image.
Excess dripss were saved and later glued on to different parts of the card.
The person who recieved it was amazed at all the colors that bounced around when the sun hit it.
After I melted the main image the first time,I placed another image right over top. Then removed them from each other, leaving me with two Utee covered images. Definateley different. After it dried I bend the images to make them crack to give them some grit and character. The messing around with goup can suck up time but is alway's an great time. ....enjoy the day.

..funky "tri fold card"...
..sorry for the harsh colors of the photo...
...it's very pretty in real life.. this was my first tri fold card ever..so super easy, yet it looks complicated.. if it takes more then three minutes for you to do the back ground, then I will eat my shoes.. however, the decorating is another story.. you can take as long as you have creativity in you.. if that makes any sense...
...the main stamped image was sunk into melten jutie powder, identical to the last post...the organgish red paper behind it, was cut from a sheet of paper, which was dyed, with beet juice, left over from canning the fall harvest, that went into our freezer..
...as were all the scrappy bits that are stamped on throughout the rest of the card... i.e. I'm happy for you, original and memo...embelished with martha ribbon and zip da doe, it's done....here is a link to a tutorial on how to do it.. have fun....

magic medallions
.......another artsy moment.
zoom in to actually see some of the attitude on the card.
.......remember embossing powder??
.......i am sure we all have aprox. fifteen different shades hiding in a drawer somewhere.
.......it was a bit of a fad when you first started but soon lost it's luster when new products elbowed their way into the scrapping world...... well, this is an old technique but a fabulous one to drag out every couple of years. ..use a piece of paper bigger than the size of your image.
..ink it up with any colour of ink. it's okay to miss areas to give it a more natural look..
..spread embossing powder over the inked areas.
..heat embossing powder and paper until it all melts.
..do this three or four times depending on thickness desired.
..quickly push your stamp into the molten embossing powder.
..leave it there for 30 seconds. remove from embossing powder.
and "Voila" you have a medalion.
..trim excess of or use excess space to stich it to a funky background.
..the medallion on the left took at least 4 layers of embossing powder.
..medallion on the right was done with two layers of utee (thick embossing powder)

.silver and copper was mixed to create that lovely blend.
..your imagination is the only thing that limits you from here on in.

...other products used.
paper ribbon, martha ribbon (fabric),magic medalion, chalk, bling things.
have a fabby day.

childs interpertation of the layers of the earth.
our 10 year old brought this home from art class last year. i fell in love with the simplicity of the project.
they started their weavings on a piece of card board.
gathered random fibers and threads to dipict the sunset, sky, trees, shrubs, water bodies and the soil underneath.
i think it's the most marvelous piece of art ever.
a simple twig up holds the entire structure.
delicious,enjoy.
please mail me if you make any of these.
i would love to see your versions.
Rainy day happiness.
stamps are wonderful things but they are often far too plain.
a bond needs to be created with the image to tell the story,be it with drawings or material.
nestabilities were also used to create the card and other bits. and although the curves would not be my first choice, they are still quite pretty albeigh extremely cutsey and restrained.
i try to leave my "box" occasionally,by choosing less favored materials. personal choice would have been a rough and more natural edge.
another warm day is anticipated here in cowtown. it reached 33 degrees celcius here yesterday. forecast is for a serious decline in temperature for the weekend. it would not surprize me if we have snow by next tuesday. enjoy the day!!!

...baby shower favours...
...had to share 50 little jelly belly treasure boxes i
cobbled together for a little baby shower...
...i don't think ate more than 6 hands full
off those nummie jellie bellies..
...i used a die for the box shape...
...nesties for the scalloped circles and a circle punch for the opening..
...for the window i used transparencies...
...we ran out of ribbon and i regretfully forgot to take a picture
when they were done...
...superb simple...
Labels:
baby,
jelly belly boxes,
nestabilities scallop circles,

.....the inchie bug has bitten me...
..i love inchies.. they are truly neat and superb addictive..
...and allow you to tell a story in a one inch space...
...impossible you say?
...not really..
... here are the beginnings of 5o inchies...
...i started with a blank sheet of paper..
...stamped some random leaf stamps on it....
...glued some random strips of handpainted tissue paper over that...
(see previous post for details on how to)
...cut them into one inch squares...
...ready to be turned into something else...
...tommorow...i think i'll add some stiching on them..
...could be interesting...
...the little boxes in the corner???
... are inchie boxes... how fun is that!!!
... they hold approx. 20 inchies each....
...again wrapped in my deeeee-licious hand painted tissue...
...don't forget to click on the image for close ups!...
...enjoy....

...scrumptious starfish...
...these jummie starfish are made from hand dyed tissue.
...i love how this card turned out and enjoyed stiching with the machine on it as well...
...do all your work on a seperate piece of card stock so your stitching is hidden... apply your tissue paper first and stamp on top after it has dried .. then cut out desired number of starfish to create some dept on your card...
...after I applied it to a standard blank white card...i spritsed it with a light squirt of tattered angel spray...it blends everything together and makes it belong...
...second image also shows the back of the card...as i do with most images, i also put a single starfish on the inside of the card...
...use a fine tipped pen to add sand detail..
...i prefer a minimum of products on my cards so the images are visible.....enjoy...

...delicious tissue paper...
...fresh mounts of tissue, hand dyed...
...here is a freshly dyed pile of tissue paper...
...use good quality paper, not dollar store products ....use paint, re-inkers or whatever materials you have at hand...i sprits with water to create movement in the colors after my applications....
...the colors alone will give you fresh inspiration....
....i will post a card with said materials, to give you an idea, of how to use it on a card....
...enjoy the day...

...they make me happy...
...i love old trees...:)
...they make me happy.
...someday.. ...i hope i will be....
like that old tree.
...tough yet weak.
...singled out,yet part of a whole.
...be a part of a view and also have
........a view from where I stand..
...not to ever have to miss another Sunrise or Sunset.
...watered, nourished, and served a purpose.
...served as sheltered and left alone when needed.
...tough enough to survive in this Arid desert
we live in,yet able to slow down, when enough is enough.
...and still be be gorgeous in my old wrinkled, crinkled, silvered state....
...dropping branches if need be, growing more when nature permits.
...oh,to be this old tree.
...to cradle life, and let it go free.
...and hope for Life to return,to keep my arms warm..
...in the fresh day's of Spring.
...not artificially altered but altered through honest strive and strain.
...sunshine and rain, bleached and weathered....
...sunshine and rain, bleached and weathered....
...beautiful..... from my point of view.
.........someday.. i wanna be...
like this old tree...

...ooh-la-la!...poodles....
...yes,orange poodles and white bag envelopes...
...i enjoy changing objects and what they are meant for...in this case....the little paper bags (akin to a lunch bag, only small, cute and white) ...
...of course the copic's were used and a circle punch ...
...another thing i quit like is, using little tidbits of ribbon to sneak behind things..less fussy looking and more "fun"...
...gifts...ooh-la-la...
...oooh-la-la...mophead...
.
...this funky spunky gall is bootin around on a mophead...now if you have never done this....you must try it sometime...quite hillarious...
...you can't go very fast, although you want to....and a pie on the back bunker from spinkers, adds a bit of hilarity to the whole silly experience...
...oh,to live the simple life....sigh...
...ooh-la-la....paris...
...yes, i know, i am not freeench...
....however, the recepient of these cards has been to france...lucky girl....
...copic markers and an old stamping up set... oh and of course nestabilitie dies.... they are so wonderful to use... spellbinders is sneak previewing 16 new sets this week, with blog prizes to be won every day...and a chance to win all the new sets as one prize!!!!....would that not be soooo much fun?...
....snow much love...
...theses cute little snow men are sending a whole bunch of warmth your way... one stamp used twice...cut out all the extra fella's on the second stamp and raise them with bump ons....color with copic markers and you are done...this poor little guy never hit the card line...they left the day they were born...
...this stamp only had four snow people in it...until a few more stopped in for tea......and yes,i know snowmen aren't usually orange but mine are...ahhh,the amazing wonders of copic markers...
...stamp extras for family visits and simply cut them out and bump 'em up....i loove snowpeople...the more the merrier...
...saltspring island stamps and copic markers...
...moulding paste,glitter and wooden stamps...
....my eight year old niece had fun playing at our house and we came up with this pretty card...block of the area around the space you wish to put paste on....spread your paste (texture magic) onto your paper evenly and simply press the wooden stamp down firmly...sprinkle desired martha steward glitter over top and let it dry...voila, a magnificent work of art...

...glitter and watercolour...
...water colour continues to be "one of" my favourite mediums...(and of course copic markers)...
...it alway's dries different from what you expect, surprizing you time and time again...even a ten year old can do it and produce something gorgeous each time...
...used here are twinkling H2Os on tissue paper(mail me if you need instructions)recycled retro shopping bag,150 pound magna paper (tag)and of course spica pens and Copic markers...and of course standard blank cards and metal tidbit's from the treasure box (heart)...
...if I ever get time to get old...then i would like to spend a lot more time playing with all mixed media...stay warm on this chilly day...

...first snow...
...our first snow fall...i think the pattern is quite neat...of course it's melted now...
...but the moment was captured...enjoy...
...thoughts for the month..
...would you accept a much less enjoyable job paying twice what you make now? if you received the same pay regardless of your job, what kind of work would you do? if you were financially independent, would you continue to work? if not, what would you do?
no comment necessary but if you want to share your thoughts please go ahead!
.......thanks for stopping by today...
...watercolour ornaments....
...what a fun colour combo...i was bonding with DDD this morning and this was one of my favourite creations that came out of my efforts...i hope to have a number ready to go for those special people that would prefer an original water colour over a store bought reproduction...
not everyone "get's that though...
not everyone "get's that though...
...funky snow people...
...the joy of coloring images...i love it...here another test on paper...the local supplier is out of the premium paper... so until they restock the test continues...basic grey paper for the back...alway's unique and different...are you feeling the season?...stay tuned for the next post...watercolouring on sketch paper...scrumptious!...

...hedgehogs....
....copic markers and seasonal hedgehogs..
...truly exciting.. i finally caved and bought some...they say it takes a serious learning curve, however i dissagree...they would be used akin to a tombow marker.. tombow markers are used for blending colors on the paper with the use of a blender pen, whereas i blend copics on a smooth surface or simply pick up deeper colors with the tip of a lighter color marker...take a few minutes to play with them and you will figure out how they work quite quickly.. i find you really need to pay attention to the paper and ink you use..... thanks for looking....

..how to...
...who needs instructions??
it looks oh so simple.........simply stamp,on pretty paper..layer..and assemble.. if you don't succeed the first time..try, try again.....tie some pretty ribbon on and some cute buttons and...presto..a stinking cute original card....
...all right so i made a few before i achieved any sense of happiness. the biggest challenge is finding paper loooooog enough, to fold that many time..each square (IMHO)should be on it's own layer.. it looks odd if it's not so..
...how old?.....
